OPI Pink of Hearts 2009

So, today's Halloween. I didn't do a Halloween mani, nor do I plan to, haha. I'm very uninspired this year. I did realize the other day, though, that October's almost over, and it's Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I haven't even done any BCA nails yet! Which led me to this.
This is OPI Pink of Hearts 2009. Geez, typing "2009" is weird...I can't believe I bought this polish over two years ago!! This was one of the first polishes in my "collection". My bottle's half gone, so you can tell it's older, haha!
Anyways, this is a sheer, candy pink creme...kind of jelly-ish. Good formula for a sheer color. I used 3 coats and one of Seche Vite, and it's almost completely opaque. Very cute color.
I still haven't used my Pink of Hearts 2010 that I bought last year...geez. I wanted to buy this year's and have a whole series of POHs, but this year's POH is Pink Shatter...I don't know about anyone else but personally I'm over shatters/crackles/etc. So, POH 2011 gets a pass from me! Hopefully next year is back to a normal polish. But anyways...

Nicole mini haul!

Today's tiny Walmart haul...I was able to find some new stuff at my Walmart for once!!
I got the Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber (lol) mini set, and 2 new polishes from the Kardashian Kolors line: Disco Dolls and Kendall on the Katwalk. Here's some closer pics:

Kendall on the Katwalk. When I bought this, I thought it was blue, green, and purple glitter in a clear base...WRONG! I got home and found out it's in a jelly-ish blue base. I love it so much more this way! I can't wait to wear this one!

This is Disco Dolls...this one is also absolutely gorgeous! Gold glitter base with different sizes of multi-colored glitter in it, small and hexagon. It's like Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday (or any of its billion copies, haha) in a gold glitter base. I love this one but unfortunately, I already know how bad gold looks on me. Still super excited to wear it!
I didn't take any closer up pics of the Biebs set, but it includes a light pink glitter in a clear base called I Pink I Love Him (it looks like Deborah Lippmann Some Enchanted Evening, minus the hex glitter), a coral shimmer with a wicked gold shine called Coral Denominator, a red glitter in a red jelly base called Eenie Meanie Marry Me (interesting name for a polish...), and a foil-y looking purple shimmer called Canadian Star. I just can't resist minis! haha.
So, not much, but I'm excited about my new polishes! And lots of glitter...I love holiday collections ;)

Orly Emberstone

with flash

without flash

This is Orly Emberstone...my first time trying an Orly! This is from the new(er) Mineral FX collection.
I used 2 coats of this and one of Seche Vite. This is really pretty! I don't think the pics are really accurate though. The first 2 look more blue-based, cherry red than it really is. The last 2 are too orange. In real life, it's a bright red with lots of gold shimmer, but it can look orange.
The application on this was good, I didn't have any problems. The brush seemed average. Not bad by any means, but nothing spectacular. I know this looks really beat up in pics...but I wore this for 3 or 4 days, so I obviously did get a lot of tipwear!
I really like this, but the problem is, like I said in my last post...this is similar to OPI Animal-istic, and I have to admit, I think I like that one a little better. The difference is that this is more glittery, with the gold in it, but really, the base colors are super close. Ah well, still love both of them!!

OPI Animal-istic

Sooo excited about this!! This is Animal-istic from the OPI Muppets collection. This polish is just amazingly gorgeous! First pic is with flash and the other two are without.
I took so many pictures of this...it's extremely photogenic. I used 2 coats of this and one of Seche Vite. The formula and brush on this seem even greater than usual. I did virtually no cleanup on this one, it flowed perfectly onto the nail. This is such a beautiful, bright, shimmery red-orange. I'm notorious for not being a fan of reds but I'm really feeling this one.
Weird, I was gonna skip the shimmer half of the Muppet collection...and after buying them, so far I'm more into the shimmers than the glitters. Judging from this one, I think I'll be picking up all of the shimmers.
Only downside...this polish is fairly similar to OPI Love is a Racket (I posted that one a little while ago) and Orly Emberstone (should be my next post). Not dupes, but definitely a strong resemblance. It's okay though, because I'm deathly in love with all three.

OPI Haul!!

This weekend's haul..pics included!
Left to right, front: OPI Ski Teal We Drop, Fresh Frog of Bel Air, Seche Vite, Meep Meep Meep, and Cuckoo For This Color. Back: Animal-istic, Alpine Snow, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, and Excuse Moi! Very back: Spookettes set and Season Nails set.
Ski, Cuckoo, Alpine, and Lucerne are all backups I got because my bottles are running low...ditto for SV. Spookettes...I have no idea why, but I just HAD to get it! I had to get the Season Nails set too because I'd never seen it before, more on that set in a minute. The other 4 full size bottles are from the new Holiday Muppets collection!! So happy I found them...here's some closer pictures:

Animal-istic.

Fresh Frog of Bel Air.

Excuse Moi!

Meep Meep Meep...with a closer pic to show the shimmer.

I found the glitters at my Trade Secret (they didn't have the shimmers). All the bottles of Rainbow Connection and Gone Gonzo were out, but I didn't really want either of those anyway...I knew I had to get Excuse Moi because it's just totally unique and gorgeous, and then for the rest of the glitters...well, I'm not really a huge fan of the style of the glitters in this collection, but I figured I'd try one just to see how I like them. Fresh Frog seemed like the most unique shade of glitter, so, that's how I ended up with that one.
Then, I felt the need to check out the JCPenney salon, just in case...well, the had the glitters AND the shimmers, plus the mini set, PLUS everything in store was 15% off...just my luck, haha. So I figured I'd just get 2 of the shimmers. Animal-istic and Meep Meep Meep looked pretty, so! That was going to be all, but then I spotted this:

I've never seen or heard of this set before, so obviously I had to buy it! My receipt said this is a JCPenney holiday exclusive, so I guess it must be? The polishes in the set are Under The Tree...All For Me?, Happy Holi-grays!, Red-y For My Prezzie, and a mini bottle of RapiDry. (I remember when that used to be my go-to topcoat, back in the days before I discovered Seche Vite...ahh, memories!) The colors aren't anything spectacular; a light purple shimmer, a grey creme that I've found is basically a dupe for Sephora by OPI Frankly I Don't Give A-Dam, and a cherry red creme. Still, I thought it was cute, and I'm a sucker for minis!

So I have pics of some of these coming up soon...I'm soo excited about my Muppets polishes! I didn't think I'd like the shimmers that much, but I've used one of them and all I can say is wow! Now I wish I had picked up more...haha!

Also, this is completely unrelated to polish but I also bought these and they're my new obsession! Take a gander at this!

I'm completely addicted to Victoria's Secret Pink yoga pants, but these take it to a whole new level...I mean look at them! They don't look like much at first, just silver letters, but in sunlight (or artificial light)...BAM! They're, like, holo-y! Kaleidoscopic! I don't know how to explain it, but they're pretty glorious! Anyways...

FingerPaints Art Dealer Teal-er

My first FingerPaints polish! (I actually have about 6 of them, but this is the first one I've used...it's also the first one I actually received, which was for my birthday this year!)
First off, sorry for the weird pictures, haha. But I think I definitely showed the true color and shimmer of this polish. It's a pretty, electric turquoise with a nice shimmer in it. Nothing too fancy...I used 2 coats of this and one of Seche Vite. Never having used FP before, I'm impressed with the formula and brush and everything, it seemed really good, but my favorite part is the curved cap...it gives you the perfect grip.
So, that's pretty much it for now!

OPI Pros & Bronze

(with flash)

(without flash)

The other polish from the most recent OPI-Serena duo...the one that came with Love Is a Racket. No idea what it's called. All I know is that both of the polishes in that set are glorious.
Look at this!! Enlarge the pictures or something, cuz it's just crazy awesome! I'm not a fan of the pics I took, I couldn't really show the cool fleckiness of it...I tried though! I'd describe this as a bronze microglitter foil, but the great thing about it is that it's not just bronze in there...there's a bunch of pink in there too, and darker bronze, and gold, and oh my, it's just too gorgeous. These pictures don't even begin to capture it.
I used three coats of this and one coat of Seche Vite. I figured this would remove like a shimmer or something and it wouldn't be that bad, but I was sadly mistaken. Removal was bad. I should've known, since it's microglitter, but no. I mean, it wasn't the worst thing ever, but it took a while, and some scrubbing. It's worth it, though.
Unfortunately, this didn't quite mesh with my skintone. I just can't do gold. It's a tragedy. I love gold so much, but I just can't wear it. Ah well. I wear it anyways. I'm a rebel.

So, that's what I have to show for now!

Deborah Lippmann Stormy Weather

I finally have my camera back!! YAY! I was seriously dying without it...and it feels good to be able to post something again. So.
Right now I'm wearing Deborah Lippmann Stormy Weather, of the new(ish) fall collection. I actually bought this in July but haven't gotten around to wearing it!
Pretty self-explanatory...a dark grey creme. Application was better than amazing. Super pigmented, just glides right on...if I had a more steady hand, I could've tried to get away with one coat, but I used 2, and a coat of Seche Vite.
When I first put this on, I just wasn't feeling it. Not because I didn't like the color or anything, but because it wasn't meshing with my mood...I was feeling pretty down a couple days ago and this didn't do anything to brighten it up. Thankfully, I'm feeling a bit better now and I now realize just how gorgeous this really is.

And, random but slightly related...this book FINALLY arrived in the mail on Friday and my nails totally match, so I just had to take pictures :)

OMB!!! Ahh! I started reading it last night...sooo freakin' good. Definitely one of those can't-put-down books. I sit down to read one chapter and I end up reading 7. Best series ever.

So, on that note...have a happy Sunday :)

Deborah Lippmann Billionaire

I should apologize for these pictures, haha. I took them after I'd been wearing this polish for like 4 days already. It's super beat up but I still think it's a beautiful color.
This is Deborah Lippmann Billionaire. I used 3 coats because of the jelly-ish texture...because of my application, I had some dragging near the cuticles so I wanted to even it out.
I like this! Very fall. I've been absolutely CRAVING dark, vampy colors lately. Navy, burgundy, emerald...any and every dark color. It's crazy.
The closest I have to this is OPI Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow. In comparison, that one's darker and more emerald, while this one's more murky, military green. Enough of a difference to justify this purchase.
Dear Deborah Lippmann...I love you.

Mini Urban Decay Haul!!

It's been a while! Haha.

Anyways...

All I have to post about today is the tiny Urban Decay haul I got in the mail today (YAY!!!). I do have some excuses though...
I've been uber-busy.
I've posted all my posts that I had saved up.
I left my camera at my cousin's wedding I went to a few weeks back (oooops...). Thankfully, it will be returning soon. And my backup cameras haven't been available lately. Urgh.
I do, though, have one nail post coming up sometime soon (eventually!). I've been doing my nails still, but not as frequently...I just don't have the time to redo them every day, or every other day, or even every couple days. I've been wearing the same polish for about 4 days at a time lately, besides when I go bare nail (I know, right?!) And my nails are all stained and gross, so...yeah. I'm gonna try to pick things back up though, since my busy season starts to slow down once it hits October. September really is the busiest month, for sure.

So, where was I going with this post..?

Haha, anyways, my haul:
-24/7 Electric Eyeliner set (new for holiday! The Naked 24/7 set was out of stock when I ordered unfortunately...but I WILL get my hands on it!)
-24/7 Baked eyeliner (actually, I bought 2 of them...it's my favorite liner EVER, it's on sale for half off, and apparently it's being discontinued..frowny face)
-24/7 Dime eyeliner (also half off!)
-Big Fatty Waterproof Mascara (also half off...sense a trend here?)
And they had their 4 free samples special running, so I got some pretty rockin' samples too:
-Greed Primer Potion
-All Night Setting Spray
-Lip Junkie lip gloss in Wallflower
-24/7 Liner in Lust

So...not bad! I really want their new holiday nail kit. I think I'll place another order soon...I'm so addicted to UD!

Sincerely, Cat
